With applications pushing for higher resolutions & data- rates, and technology-scaling favoring digital design, the use of digital techniques to enhance ADC performance is inevitable.
This talk will first summarize trends and trade- offs regarding the use of these digital-intensive techniques before illustrating some popular examples, including calibration and enhancement techniques as well as digitally-inspired analog circuit design.
Besides that, an outlook is given regarding future challenges and opportunities in the most advanced CMOS technologies.

Pieter Harpe is a Senior Member of the IEEE and received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands, in 2004 and 2010, respectively.
He spent several years as researcher at imec, The Netherlands, and joined Eindhoven University of Technology in 2011, where he is currently an Associate Professor on low-power mixed- signal circuits.
Dr. Harpe is a TPC member for ISSCC and A-SSCC, associate editor for TCAS-I, and SSCS CONFedu program chair.
In the past, he also served as TPC member and subcommittee chair for ESSCIRC, SSCS Distinguished Lecturer, JSSC and SSC-L guest editor, and co- organizer for the AACD workshop.
